Trans-Mississippi Exposition
Omaha, Nebraska, 1898
The Trans-Mississippi Exposition, held in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 1, 1898 until October 31, 1898,
was held in order to showcase the economic, cultural and artistic achievements of the individuals who
lived in this region. All of the buildings, which housed over 5000 exhibits, were built as temporary
structures. A monument to the exposition is in Omaha's Kountze Park, the former site of the exposition.
